I qualified as a Montessori Directress in 1998. My first teaching post was at Harmony Primary School in Lenasia, where I facilitated a community-based pre-school. I taught at this pre-school for a few years and then served as principal. During this time spent at a traditional public school I began to fully appreciate the benefits Of the Montessori method of Education. I realised that there was a huge difference between traditional teaching and the Montessori approach.
I also noticed a dire need for a Montessori pre-school in our community. I opened Kindergarten Kidz in January 2001 with the vision that “childhood should be a journey, not a race!” and haven’t looked back since.
My other qualifications include an ECD Level 5 Diploma, NAET Practitioner, Braingym® Practitioner And Educational Kinesiologist. With my expertise and vision for Early Childhood Education I trust that I can offer your child a
solid, positive and happy foundation here at Kindergarten Kidz.
Far from being perfect myself, I am a perfectionist, one of the many keys to my success. I have courage and determination and that is what drives me. I believe in goals not dreams.
Courage is taking the first steps towards your goals even if you cannot see the path ahead.
My love for children is what pushed me to become a teacher and inspires me daily. One of my greatest pleasures is to spend time with these tiny human beings, watching them grow, learn and discover.
I and a qualified Level 4/5 Early Childhood Development Practitioner. I am currently studying towards a Bachelors Degree in Foundation Phase Education.
I also have a degree in Wedding Planning and own a novelty cake Home Industry Company.
I am a very hands-on creative person and include art and creativity as much as possible in my lessons. I enjoy working at KKidz because of the high standard of education offered and the amount of time, effort and care that is put into planning every day to ensure only the best for your little one!
I worked at Nawara Playgroup & Pre-school for one and a half years. I was also a fitness coach at Little Leagues for 6 months. I love working with children as each day is a new day and there is never a dull moment with all the bubbly children.
Each day has a great challenge to go through to produce the best outcome and this is what I love the most as it’s my way of making a difference in your childs’ life.
KKidz has a warm and friendly environment, and that’s what every child needs for a sound foundation!
With the support of my loving husband and family I started teaching at KKidz in 2010. Over the years I’ve grown along with my children in the Nursery Class & together we strive to be the best we can be. My colleagues and children at KKidz are now an important part of my family.
My love for children is my biggest motivation and here at KKidz we aim to equip our children with independence for life and not just their schooling career.
“A child is like soft clay that we shape according to our treatment of it” Dr M Montessori.
I have a certificate in early Childhood development. I love working at KKIDZ and believe it is an excellent school as the management and teachers are highly dedicated and will be there to continuously motivate and stimulate young minds.
We also assist in boosting their self-confidence to prepare children adequately for their future formal schooling years.
I have a beautiful family of five whom I love spending time with. During my free time I enjoy cooking, meeting friends, being outdoors and spending time with my family.
My favourite quote from Maria Montessori is: “Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed”.
I’m sure your little one is going to have lots of fun in my class!
The atmosphere is a warm and caring one. Home Schooling is a new teaching method that was introduced this year (2016) by Kindergarten Kidz. The syllabus used is the Clonard syllabus. Clonard uses CAPS approved textbooks which are in line with The National Curriculum Statement of South Africa thus making certain that the Students cover what is necessary to return to mainstream schooling should the need arise.
In addition Clonard prepares students well to continue with their studies through the Cambridge system.
“Home schooled kids do well in standardised tests, are welcome at colleges and universities, And as adults, have a reputation for being self directed learners and reliable employees.”
The importance of home schooling at KKidz is that it offers the individual attention of learners to be home schooled in a classroom environment. In this way the learner experiences the best of both worlds i.e. the individual attention of the facilitator since there would be a maximum of ten students as well as the learner would have the classroom atmosphere that a mainstream school offers.
“A good teacher is like a candle. It consumes itself to light the way for others”.
We give South African children a headstart in life.
HOMESCHOOL YOUR CHILD WITH CLONARD
I chose to pursue this particular career for the simple reason that I love children and that I can learn as much from them as they can from me. I am currently studying ECD and I hope to further my studies in the years to come because helping children reach their full potential is no less than a priority for me.
